Tribunal Document and Determination Translation Services in the UK — Certified
A tribunal decision is written about you, and often you are the one who has to read it and decide what to do next. We translate determinations, decisions and the evidence that goes into a hearing — so the outcome, the reasons and the next step are all clear in a language you actually read.

Who We Provide Tribunal Document Translation For in the UK
Two very different needs meet on this page. Evidence going into a hearing has to be in English. The decision coming out has to be in a language the person it concerns can read.
Appellants & Claimants
The person the decision is about, often reading it without a representative and deciding within days whether to take it further.
Immigration Advisers
Regulated advisers explaining an outcome to a client and drafting grounds, usually alongside the material on our Immigration Tribunal translation page.
Solicitors & Barristers
Representatives who need the client to understand the findings before an onward appeal is settled, and the foreign-language evidence rendered before the hearing.
Employment Representatives & Unions
Reps handling unfair dismissal and discrimination claims for members who do not read English, working with our Employment Tribunal translation service.
Advice Agencies & Law Centres
Caseworkers supporting people through benefits, housing and immigration appeals with limited budgets and short deadlines.
Families in SEND and Health Cases
Parents and carers dealing with education, care and mental health decisions that affect a child or a relative directly.
Employers & HR Teams
Organisations that need a tribunal outcome understood by an overseas parent company or a non-English-speaking party.
Overseas Family & Advisers
Relatives and lawyers abroad supporting someone through a UK appeal who need the decision in their own language.
Tribunal Determinations and Documents We Translate
Decisions coming out, evidence going in, and everything procedural in between — all under one glossary so the same term does not appear three different ways across your file.
Where documents are compiled into a paginated hearing bundle, page-matched delivery matters too — see our evidence bundle translation page.
Tribunal Determination Translation — Before & After Examples
Three lines that decide whether a translated decision is usable: the one that says what happened, the one that says why, and the one that protects the person it is about.
Decision: the appeal is dismissed on all grounds. The anonymity direction made by the First-tier Tribunal is continued.
تصمیم: درخواست تجدیدنظر در همهٶ موارد رد میشود. دستور ناشناسماندن صادرهشده از سوی دادگاه بدوی ادامه مییابد.
Applying the lower standard of proof, I am not satisfied that the appellant has established a reasonable degree of likelihood of persecution on return.
Duke zbatuar standardin më të ulët të provës, nuk jam i bindur se apeluesi ka vërtetuar një shkallë të arsyeshme gjasash për persekutim pas kthimit.
No report of these proceedings shall directly or indirectly identify the appellant, who is referred to throughout as ‘AH’.
لا يجوز لأي تقرير عن هذه الإجراءات أن يحدد هوية المستأنف بصورة مباشرة أو غير مباشرة، والذي يُشار إليه في جميع أجزاء القرار بالحرفين ـ AH.
Extracts are illustrative and use invented initials and wording. No real appellant, decision or appeal number is shown.
What Must Be Exact in a Tribunal Determination Translation
A determination is read to answer three questions: what was decided, why, and what can be done now. Six things determine whether a translation actually answers them.
The disposal is the whole document
Allowed, dismissed, remitted, set aside, no error of law. Machine output flips these routinely, and a person reading a translated decision has no way of knowing it has happened.
The standard of proof is technical
‘Balance of probabilities’ and the lower standard used in protection appeals are legal thresholds, not turns of phrase. Simplifying them changes what the judge actually decided.
Credibility findings are findings, not opinions
‘I am not satisfied that…’ is a conclusion reached on evidence. Rendered as ‘I did not believe him’, it becomes something harsher and less accurate than what was written.
Dates and time limits run from the decision
The date the decision was sent out is what onward deadlines are counted from. It is reproduced exactly, and never replaced with the date you received or opened it.
Anonymity is protected, not translated away
Where a decision uses initials, the translation uses the same initials. We never expand them, and we carry the anonymity direction across in full so its force is obvious.
Paragraph numbers stay put
Grounds of appeal point at numbered paragraphs. If the numbering shifts in translation, your representative cannot cite the finding they are challenging.
Tribunal Document Translation Across Every Chamber
The UK tribunal system runs in chambers, each with its own vocabulary and its own way of writing a decision. We translate across all of them, and we staff each one with linguists who know its language.
Immigration and Asylum
First-tier and Upper Tribunal appeals, protection and human rights claims, and error of law decisions. Covered in depth on our Immigration Tribunal page.
Employment and Employment Appeal
Unfair dismissal, discrimination and wages claims, plus EAT judgments. See our Employment Tribunal page for claim-stage documents.
Social Entitlement Chamber
Personal Independence Payment, Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit appeals, where the statement of reasons is often the only explanation a claimant receives.
Health, Education and Social Care
SEND appeals, EHC plans and Mental Health Tribunal decisions, where the outcome affects a child or a relative and families need to understand it fully.
Property Chamber
Residential property, leasehold and rent decisions, often involving landlords or tenants who do not work in English.
Tax and General Regulatory
Tax Chamber decisions and regulatory appeals covering information rights, transport and charity matters, where reasoning is dense and technical.
General information about tribunal documents, not legal or immigration advice. Deadlines and rights of appeal are set out in the decision itself and differ by chamber — check it, and take advice from a solicitor or a regulated adviser.
Certified Tribunal Document and Determination Translation
Not everything needs certifying, and we will tell you when it does not. Paying for a certificate on a document only you will read is money that could go towards the pages that matter.
Certified translation
A signed statement confirming the translation is complete and accurate, naming the translator and their qualifications. What you need where a translated document is going back to a tribunal or another authority.
Understanding copy
Where the translation is purely so you or your client can read the decision, certification adds cost and no value. We say so and price it as a plain translation instead.
Bilingual side-by-side
The English and your language in parallel, paragraph for paragraph, so you and your representative can work from the same numbered paragraph in the same conversation.
Tribunal Document Translation in 100+ Languages
Tribunal work brings languages that general agencies rarely cover properly — Tigrinya, Sorani, Pashto, Dari. Those are the pairs where a weak translation does the most damage, so they are the ones we staff most carefully.
Every translation is done by a native speaker and checked by a second linguist. Regional varieties matter here: Dari and Farsi are not interchangeable, and neither are Sorani and Kurmanji.
Need a Tribunal Determination Translated Before Your Appeal Deadline?
Time limits are counted from the date the decision was sent out, not from the day you managed to read it. Send us the decision with that date and we will tell you honestly what is left to work with.
Confidential Tribunal Document Translation for Sensitive Cases
Tribunal papers hold things people have never told their own families: an asylum account, a psychiatric report, a child’s diagnosis. Handling starts from that assumption, not from the invoice.
Why UK Appellants and Advisers Choose Our Tribunal Translation Service
Six things that matter on tribunal work specifically, where the reader is often the person whose life the decision is about.
Outcome wording checked twice
Whether the appeal was allowed or dismissed is verified against the source by a second linguist before delivery. It is the one thing that cannot be wrong.
Key-sections option, not all-or-nothing
On a forty-page decision, the outcome, the findings and the section on what happens next are often all that is needed. We will translate those and tell you what we skipped.
Anonymity handled properly
Initials stay initials. Reporting restrictions are carried across, not quietly dropped because they sit outside the main body of the decision.
Rare languages staffed properly
Tigrinya, Sorani, Kurmanji, Dari, Pashto. We do not treat these as interchangeable with neighbouring languages, and we do not accept a pair we cannot staff.
We work to the date on the decision
Tell us when it was sent out and we schedule backwards. If the window is too tight to do properly, we say so rather than taking the money.
Priced for people, not only firms
Much of this work is paid for by the person the decision is about. Flat, visible pricing and a cheaper key-sections option exist for exactly that reason.
Our Tribunal Document Translation Process, Step by Step
Six steps, all remote. Step two is where most people save money, because a determination rarely needs translating from cover to cover.
Send the decision or your documents
A phone photo is enough to quote from. Tell us the date it was sent out and whether you have a representative, and we can work out what is actually needed.
We tell you what needs translating
On a long determination, that is often the outcome, the findings and the section explaining what happens next. We will say which pages we would skip and why.
Fixed price, before we start
One figure covering translation, checking and delivery. No hourly rates, and nothing added afterwards.
Translation by a native-speaking linguist
Someone who works in tribunal language, not general legal documents. Findings, disposal and anonymity handled as the distinct things they are.
Independent second check
A second linguist verifies the outcome wording, the dates, the paragraph numbering and the initials against the original decision.
Delivered by email, and post if you want it
A PDF the same day it is finished, and hard copies by tracked post to any UK address if you or your representative need paper.
Tribunal Document Translation Cost in the UK
Priced per standard page of 250 words, with a cheaper key-sections option because a forty-page determination rarely needs translating in full to answer the question you actually have.
Key Sections
Outcome, findings and next steps
Full Determination
The whole decision, cover to cover
Urgent
Within 24 hours
Evidence translated into English for a hearing is quoted on the same per-page basis. Advice agencies, law centres and unions instructing regularly are offered a standing rate — just ask.
Tribunal Determination Translation Case Studies
Names, appeal numbers and identifying detail are held back. The chambers, the languages and the turnarounds are not.
Protection Appeal — Tigrinya
A 38-page determination where the appellant needed to know the outcome, the credibility findings and the onward rights before instructing anyone. Key sections were translated first, the remainder followed.
Employment Judgment — Romanian
A claimant represented by a union needed the reasons and the remedy section rendered accurately so the rep could explain the award and the deductions applied.
SEND Decision — Arabic
A family needed the tribunal’s findings on provision explained in full, with the directions to the local authority translated exactly as ordered.
Tribunal Document Translation Reviews From UK Clients
Feedback from appellants, caseworkers and representatives across the UK.
"I had the decision for four days and did not know if I had won or lost. They translated the first page the same evening and everything made sense after that."
"They suggested translating only the findings and the part about appealing, which cost a third of what I expected. Nothing was hidden from me."
"As a caseworker I have used several agencies. This is the first one that carried the anonymity order across without being reminded."
"The remedy figures in the employment judgment were checked line by line. My member understood exactly what she had been awarded and why."
"Sorani, not Kurmanji, and they asked which one before quoting. Small thing that tells you they know what they are doing."
"Our SEND decision came with directions to the council. Those were translated exactly, timescales and all, which is what we needed to hold them to it."
Shown with permission and, where a case was anonymised, with initials only.
