Terms & Conditions

The terms on which we provide our translation and interpreting services.

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of services by UK Court Translations. By requesting a quotation or placing an order, you agree to these terms. They are provided for general information and do not constitute legal advice.

1. Definitions

"We", "us" and "our" refer to UK Court Translations. "You" and "your" refer to the client requesting services. "Services" means the translation, interpreting or related services we agree to provide.

2. Quotations

Any quotation we provide is indicative and based on the information available to us at the time. Quotations may be reviewed and adjusted if the scope, length, complexity or requirements of the work differ from what was initially described.

3. Orders

An order is confirmed once we have received your instructions and any information reasonably required to begin the work. We may decline or pause an order where instructions are unclear or where source material is incomplete.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Providing clear, complete and legible source material
  • Confirming the intended purpose and destination of the work
  • Providing any reference material, spellings of names, or preferences in good time
  • Reviewing delivered work promptly and raising any queries within a reasonable period

5. Timeframes

Any delivery timeframe we mention is an estimate given in good faith and may be affected by the nature of the material and factors outside our control. We will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed of progress.

6. Acceptance by third parties

Requirements for translated documents can vary between courts, authorities and other bodies, and may change over time. We are not able to control or determine whether any third party will accept a document, and acceptance is not within our responsibility.

7. Fees and payment

Fees are as set out in the applicable quotation or order confirmation. Payment terms will be communicated to you before work begins. Any prices referred to may be subject to change and to applicable taxes.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise agreed, rights in a completed translation transfer to you upon full payment. We may retain records as described in our Document Handling & Retention Policy.

9. Liability

We provide our services using reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

10. Confidentiality

We treat the material you share with us as confidential and handle it in line with our Privacy Policy and Document Handling & Retention Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over any dispute.

12. Contact us
